Only 5 Weeks
My goal for 2019 was set at $10,000 and I pledged to match all contributions dollar for dollar to reach it. And, I did that to illustrate my belief in, and commitment to, the Davis Phinney Foundation, so there would be no doubt. But the response of family and friends was so tremendous that it took only 5 weeks to reach, and exceed, the year's goal. WOW! How great is that? Pretty great in my book and very generous, too. Thank You All!
What's next? In my analytical, linear thought process, I thought it called for a bullet-point list of plans and activities. So, here it is.

Davis Phinney Conference - Christie and I are leaving this Thu, Apr 11 to attend the "Victory Summit" in Austin, TX. Looking forward to it.
Prepare for the bike rides we're organizing; GREENWOOD GRAVEL GRIND (G3) on Apr 27, and BIKES, BLUES & BAYOUS (BBB) on Aug 3. G3 is a start-up and the first year is always the hardest. BBB is expected to exceed 1,000 riders again, and our strong start in registration is proof. Working to prepare for both now!
Keep training and see how physically fit I can be even with PD and 67 years against me. The big test is coming up in July when I will bike with a team of other Parkinson's cyclists for the weeklong RAGBRAI event. RAGBRAI is a mega-ride across Iowa (428 miles) with over 10,000 participants. Can't wait!
